The former national secretary in charge of reform and modernization of the State excluded from the Movement for the Rebirth of Cameroon joins the PCRN.
The Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation (PCRN) led by Cabral Libii welcomes a new member, a former official of the MRC. Me Richard Tamfu, expelled from the train of rebirth in the midst of the renewal process of the organs, officially declared his membership in the PCRN. The lawyer made the announcement on the television set of Canal2 International, on the show Canal Presse.
He joins the Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation at a time when a wave of division shakes the foundations of the party. One of the founders wants to reclaim the presidency of the party. The internal crisis between Robert Kona and Cabral Libii, the national president, has been ongoing since its inception in the second half of 2023. The case of Robert Kona against Cabral Libii is pending at the court of first instance of Kaélé. It has already been postponed three times since January 4, 2024. In the meantime, each party has excluded the other from the political formation.
The MRC directorate expelled Richard Tamfu on July 24, 2024. This followed his removal from the position of national secretary in charge of reform and modernization of the State. The party hierarchy’s decision also banned him from party communication. In a statement, the lawyer declared that he was expelled “for attacking Maurice Kamto’s age and criticizing his party management philosophy.” Prior to this expulsion, the member of the MRC directorate declared his candidacy to challenge Maurice Kamto for the leadership of the party.
