The village of Houdmada, located in the canton of Podoko, Mora district, Mayo Sava department, in the Far North region of Cameroon, was the target of a deadly attack by the Boko Haram sect on the night of February 17th to 18th, 2024.

The attack took place around 8 p.m., when the residents were already at home. The heavily armed terrorists took the village by surprise. The members of the vigilance committee, who were guarding the village, tried to alert the population, but it was already too late. The village was surrounded by the assailants.

The terrorists opened fire on the villagers who were trying to flee. Result: 3 members of the vigilance committee were killed by bullets and several material damages were recorded.
