Professor Jean Bahebeck has recently been involved in a controversy regarding statements attributed to a fake Facebook account. These statements suggested that Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, an Aggregated Public Law expert, would be referred to as a “legal illiterate.” However, during his appearance on the program “Facing the Truth” on Sunday, April 7, 2024, Professor Bahebeck vehemently denied these allegations, presenting concrete evidence to support his denial.
Professor Bahebeck emphasized that the post in question did not come from him, stating that his name does not contain a “Y,” but rather an “H.” He also shared personal memories from his past with Mouelle Kombi, highlighting his brilliance and academic success. He stated, “I cannot say that he is not a good jurist. That does not mean that I cannot oppose him.” Professor Bahebeck also pointed out that he may disagree with Mouelle Kombi in the field of political practice, while still acknowledging the latter’s brilliance.
It is worth noting that after the announcement of the appointment of a technical staff for coaching the Indomitable Lions by the Ministry of Sports, several people claimed that the ministry did not comply with the legal texts on the matter. A screenshot from a page attributed to Professor Bahebeck presented harsh words towards the minister. “A football coach is not a civil servant or a contractual employee of an administration. Mouelle Kombi is a legal illiterate. Samuel Eto’o, thank you for your courage. We await the appointment of the real coach for the lions. The coach of the mafia will remain for the mafia. Period.” can be read on this screenshot.
Following these statements, Professor Bahebeck clearly refuted the allegations attributed to a fake Facebook account, presenting factual evidence to support his denial. He also emphasized the distinction between his political disagreements with Mouelle Kombi and his acknowledgment of the latter’s brilliance as a legal expert. In the end, Marc Brys, the new coach of the Indomitable Lions appointed by Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, arrived in Cameroon on Sunday night to sign his contract. His installation is scheduled for April 11, if nothing changes in the meantime, especially since Fecafoot will announce their part of the technical staff on Tuesday.
