The work on the road connecting Babadjou to Matazem is progressing well and is almost complete.
According to the latest information available at the Ministry of Public Works, the physical progress of the works on this 17 km stretch has now reached 93%. The different stages of construction, such as earthworks, the foundation layer, the base layer of asphalt gravel, and the surface layer of asphalt concrete, are largely completed along the entire route.
Furthermore, essential signaling works to ensure the safety of users have already been completed on 14 km of the road. In parallel, related projects aimed at developing other routes and building structures such as a culvert on the Tchi Neuh River in Bamendousso are also progressing well. Earthworks, foundation and base layers, as well as ancillary structures, are being executed at a rate of 70%.
Thanks to these significant advancements, it is expected that the project will be fully completed before the end of the first semester of 2024. This new road infrastructure is expected to facilitate traffic flow and improve connectivity between the different served localities. The inhabitants of the region will thus benefit from a modernized and secure road for their daily travels.
