Hundreds of mourners gathered today to pay tribute to David Eto’o, the father of FECAFOOT President and Cameroonian football legend, Samuel Eto’o, as he embarked on his final journey on earth.
The solemn ceremony took place at the Military Hospital morgue in Bonanjo, Douala, where the body of David Eto’o was laid to rest before his burial on Saturday, April 13.
A somber atmosphere surrounded the hospital premises as a large crowd of mourners witnessed the departure of the deceased’s body.
Among those present was Oswald Baboké, Deputy Director of the Civil Cabinet, who represented President Paul Biya at the event. Cabinet Ministers and other senior government officials, including the Littoral Governor, Dieudonne Ivaha Diboua, also attended the ceremony.
Rigobert Song, Eto’o’s former teammate and former coach of the Indomitable Lions, was also spotted at the scene.
David Eto’o will be laid to rest this weekend in his hometown of Ngambè in the Sanaga Maritime division of the Littoral Region.
