The Special Fund for Equipment and Inter-municipal Intervention (FEICOM) allocated exactly 41,233,526,451 XAF to CTD projects in the past year.
In 2023, FEICOM granted 267 financings for a total amount of 41,233,526,451 XAF to Municipalities, Commune syndicates, Commune associations, Urban Communities, and Regions for the implementation of their projects.
Among others, 15 billion XAF in funding had been approved during two sessions held on July 19 and 20, 2023 in Yaoundé. The funds were intended to finance projects in 62 municipalities and four regions of Cameroon.
Specifically, the Cameroon decentralized territorial authorities’ bank validated financings of 11.2 billion XAF for municipalities, and 3.8 billion XAF for the regions of Adamaoua, North, Northwest, and West. “The new funding granted by these two bodies covers the 10 regions of our country and brings the amount of FEICOM support to municipalities and regions to 24 billion XAF since the beginning of the current exercise,” specified the CTD bank in a press release signed on July 20, 2023 by Philippe Camille Akoa, its general manager.
Another project, in August 2023, “FEICOM granted financing of nearly one billion XAF for the construction and equipment of socio-educational infrastructures in some secondary institutions in the Adamaoua Region, during the 2nd session of the Financial Competition Committee for Regions (CCFF-R).”
According to FEICOM, this achievement complies with Decree No. 2018/635 of October 31, 2018 on the reorganization of FEICOM, which designates Regions as the second level of Decentralized Territorial Authorities, as clients of the Institution.
Also in 2023, the Special Fund for Equipment and Inter-municipal Intervention (FEICOM) allocated a funding of 1.932 billion XAF to the Support Program for the Development of the Bamboo Sector within the Decentralized Territorial Authorities (Padefib-CTD).
This program aimed to contribute to improving the living conditions of populations and sustainable environmental management through the development of bamboo value chains. An funding of 1,932,176,400 XAF for its operationalization was thus mobilized.
