Organized by the African Union of Broadcasting, the Yaoundé summit aims to achieve several objectives. These include evaluating the readiness of African media to use artificial intelligence, developing strategies and recommendations for the responsible adoption of AI, and promoting collaboration among stakeholders.
The introductory session of the summit took place on Monday. During this session, the inaugural lecture by Professor Emmanuel Pondi addressed the question of whether one should fear Artificial Intelligence. The rest of the summit’s work revolves around several themes, including the adoption and integration of Artificial Intelligence in the media, media, Artificial Intelligence, democracy, and society, as well as media content and Artificial Intelligence.
