In the heart of the North West Region of Cameroon, a talented artist named Kiyang Federick Muluh has emerged, showcasing exceptional skills and creativity in the field of sculpture. His innovative creation, known as “Ki Rackets,” demonstrates his talent and artistry by using local resources to craft extraordinary tennis-like rackets.

Muluh, a dedicated artist, has devoted himself to perfecting this unique blend of art and sport. He explains, “I have been involved in this field for a long time, allowing me to grow and improve my work progressively. These rackets are not ordinary; they are specially designed for two unique sports that I have created. Additionally, they serve as stunning additions to home décor,” he shared with MMI.

The disappointment of Cameroon’s performance in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa fueled Muluh’s determination to challenge the status quo. At 36 years old, he criticized the dominance of Western sports, particularly football, and the lack of African success. With a desire to promote African sporting excellence, Muluh set out to invent a game that is authentically African.

Originally from Pinyin in Cameroon’s Northwest region, Muluh, a skilled sculptor, utilized his natural talent and experimented with local materials like cane sticks and plywood to create a range of rackets designed for unconventional sports, as well as decorative pieces.

“I have crafted these rackets not only for sport but also as decorative pieces,” Muluh emphasized, highlighting the dual purpose of his craftsmanship.

Reflecting on his journey, Muluh shared, “I have always had a passion for innovation since I was young. The World Cup served as a catalyst for self-discovery.”

Armed with tools and a vision, Muluh expanded his operations to different cities and has meticulously crafted over 400 unique rackets, showcasing his creativity and dedication.

While facing challenges such as financial constraints and the need for effective management, Muluh is excited to introduce his creations and the exclusive sports he has invented. These games offer a unique experience, distinct from traditional sports like tennis.

Muluh is seeking visibility and financial support to bring his artistic aspirations to fruition. He welcomes individuals interested in supporting or investing in his vision to reach out to him for further information. His Facebook page, @kiyangmuluhbaa, provides a platform for followers to join him on this distinctive journey.

The Ki Rackets come in three different sizes to cater to varying preferences and needs. These sizes include size 1 for kids, size 2 for adults, and size 3, a giant-sized racket specifically crafted for decoration and display purposes. The adult size (size 2) weighs approximately 300g and is 28 to 30 inches long.

With Muluh’s Ki Rackets, the world eagerly anticipates the opportunity to witness the unique blend of art and sports. For those interested in supporting Muluh’s artistic endeavors or purchasing his distinctive pieces, his Facebook page offers a glimpse into the world of Ki Rackets and an opportunity to participate in his creative journey.
