The play-offs of the Cameroonian football championship, MTN Elite One, originally scheduled for March 15, have been postponed to March 22 following a decision by the Chamber of Conciliation and Arbitration.

Indeed, Fecafoot was preparing to launch the second part of the Elite One championship, but the suspension was ordered after the applicant Fauve Azur and Fecafoot failed to reach an agreement before the conciliation judge.

This case has been referred to arbitration, as indicated by the statement from the council of Fauve Azur. Several clubs are involved in ongoing proceedings, including Avion de Douala, Victoria United, Yong sport, Ums, and Apejes. Ums, Pierre Kwemo’s club, is particularly active with three proceedings against Fecafoot.

The requesting clubs are challenging certain decisions made at the end of the championship by Fecafoot’s jurisdictional bodies. Ums hopes to recover lost points on the green table to qualify for the play-offs, while Yong sport is looking to secure its place despite losing a point to Victoria United.

Fauve Azur, reintegrated into the Big Four after conciliation between Avion and Fecafoot, seeks to obtain a decision binding on the highest instance of Cameroonian football. The decision on Union de Douala’s appeal against a decision of the homologation and disciplinary committee is also expected.
