In total, 105 soldiers will be deployed in three departments, namely Logone and Chari, Mayo Tsanaga, and Mayo. These soldiers, facing a war situation imposed by the Boko Haram sect, have received training on human rights, international humanitarian law, and gender-based violence.

In these conflict zones, some military personnel are accused by the population, victims of the ravages of the Boko Haram sect, of also suffering abuse from men in uniform. This situation calls on the Cameroonian government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to carefully select the soldiers who will soon be deployed in areas experiencing repeated attacks.

This sensitization of uniformed personnel is part of the Regional Stabilization Facility project in the Lake Chad Basin, specifically in Cameroon, which has a pillar focused on security and human rights.

It serves as a reminder of their mission, which is to protect civilians in this struggle where several women have been assaulted. It is particularly difficult to identify the perpetrator, especially in a conflict situation.

At a time when the army plays a crucial role in stabilization, it was necessary to educate these commandos so that everyone is aware of human rights in conflict zones.
