However, the husband opposes this practice, citing religious reasons.
At the police station, the unsatisfied wife stated that this issue has been ongoing for some time. During the interrogations, Germaine indicated that she had brought her husband to two family meetings in the past. “The first one with his family, during which the woman had raised her issue: her husband’s refusal to fulfill this fantasy. He then acknowledged the facts and promised to make an effort. However, he did not keep his promise, and so a second meeting initiated by Germaine was held with her in-laws. The outcome was the same, with Honoré remaining firm in his decision.” This led Germaine to involve the police. Last Thursday, in front of the commissioner, Honoré explained his reticence, stating that his pastor had told him that the requested practice by his wife is an abomination and that he is not willing to consent to it. On the other hand, the woman feels even more frustrated because, in her opinion, she is willing to perform similar “favors” for her husband during their intimate moments. This led to an accusation of selfishness which was also included in the case. Germaine also stated that she is not willing to cheat on her husband, but if in the event of infidelity, this fantasy is fulfilled by someone else, she will leave her husband.
Alliance Nyobia, the police officer in charge of the case, said he was overwhelmed and passed the case on to his superiors. It was in a police unit in Bonabéri (Douala IV district) that Honoré D., a 41-year-old businessman, and his wife Germaine, a 34-year-old saleswoman in a soap factory, found themselves last Thursday. After hearing them, the commissioner asked the couple to leave his office quickly and instructed the officer to write his report for further legal action. According to the latest news, the report has been submitted to the prosecutor’s office in Douala Bonaberi. It seems that a tumultuous trial could open in the coming days.
