After the publication of a list of players excluded from the play-offs for dual identity by Fecafoot, the French media “Le Monde” released an investigation on Nathan Doualla this Monday.

According to this investigation, the midfielder from Opopo had already been spotted in Cameroon during a documentary made in 2022 on the Cameroonian championship by the same newspaper.

They claim that they interviewed the player at that time, while he was playing for Oryx. He introduced himself as “Alexandre Bardeli” and claimed to be “21 years old”. “Le Monde” goes further, stating that there were personal accounts on several social networks under this name, with photos of the player. However, these accounts no longer exist today, except for Instagram, whose main account name has been changed twice.

“Le Monde” also presented a photo of Nathan Doualla with his mother, which he allegedly posted in 2016, saying that he should logically be 9 years old if he is now 17.

This investigation comes as the player’s current club contests the list published by the federation, claiming that it is certainly an error on Fecafoot’s part. “We wish to draw the public’s attention to the fact that Nathan Douala Wilfried and Richmond Nji do not have dual identities as claimed by the Cameroonian Football Federation,” reads the statement released by Victoria United.

It would be a real scandal if these facts are proven true. Ultimately, Fecafoot had given a deadline until 3:30 pm on Monday for the concerned clubs to provide evidence. A press conference will also be held on Tuesday by the federation’s secretary general, in preparation for the play-offs starting on March 16.
