A father of 3 children was violently stabbed while watching a football match. The incident took place in the city of Maroua, 2nd department of Diamaré in the Far North region of Cameroon. The most recent case is that of young Ousmanou Oumaté, 31 years old and father of 3 children, who was violently stabbed by 3 unidentified individuals in his home in Louggewo while he was watching the Cameroon match with his family.
Witnesses report that the criminals entered the home of this father of children while he was watching the match between Cameroon and Senegal during the African Cup match. A fight broke out between them, and the young Ousmanou was viciously stabbed by his outnumbering attackers. Neighbors arrived after being alerted when the 3 individuals had already fled. Young Ousmane was taken to the regional hospital in Maroua, but unfortunately he passed away around 24 hours later, leaving behind a grieving family.
“We are plunged into fear and we must worry about the security of our family and our community,” said a family member, indicating that the identity of the attackers is not yet known.
An investigation has been opened to unmask the culprits of this murder. However, the people, tired of these attacks, do not expect much from this investigation. “Several investigations have been opened like this, we have never seen the result,” says a resident of the city.
According to sources, not a week goes by without an attack on a motorcycle taxi driver or a trader in the city of Maroua 2nd. Many of these attacks are simply settling scores, and all this is happening under the helpless gaze of the authorities of the city of Maroua 2nd.
