Call for Submissions: Ghana Music Awards 2024

The Ghana Music Awards (GMAs) is an event that recognizes remarkable musical accomplishments within the country and across the continent. The event celebrates excellence in diverse genres such as highlife, Afropop, hiplife, and traditional music. Organized by Charterhouse Productions Limited, the event is usually sponsored by telecoms giant Vodafone and held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.

The call for submissions applies to Ghanaian musicians who have released songs between 1 January and 31 December 2023. All submissions must be made online through the official entry form on the GMAs website. The deadline for entries is 29 February.

In the previous year’s awards, hip hop act Black Sherif emerged as the biggest winner, converting five of his nominations into victories. He swept the awards for Best Hip Hop Song, Collaboration of the Year, Best Music Video, Most Popular Song of the Year, and Artist of the Year.

The 2024 GMAs will present awards in a wide range of categories such as Best Gospel Song of the Year, Best Male Vocal Performance, Best Female Vocal Performance, Best Hiplife Song, Unsung Artist of the Year, Best Hip Hop Song, Collaboration of the Year, International Collaboration of the Year, Best Afropop Song, Producer of the Year, Best Afrobeats Song, Best Reggae/Dancehall Song, Best Music Video, Best African Artist, Best Highlife Song, Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artist, Songwriter of the Year, Best Highlife Artist, Best Gospel Artist, Best Hiplife/Hip Hop Artist, Best Reggae/Dancehall Artist, Best Rap Performance, Record of the Year, Audio Engineer of the Year, Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, Vodafone Green Award, and Lifetime Achievement Award.
