The president of the Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation in an interview with Radio France Internationale states that members of the government are flouting the rules.

Deputy Cabral Libii, president of the PCRN, condemns the violation of laws by some members of the government in Cameroon. According to the opponent of the system, “we are in a country where laws are flouted every day.” To illustrate his point, the politician refers to two current issues.

The first issue is the crisis within the PCRN. The founder and former president of the party, Robert Kona, is trying to oust him from the presidency of the party, claiming to have received illegal support from the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji. “He obtained the manifestly illegal prohibition of our congress.” According to Cabral Libii, this is an “unprecedented persecution that clearly indicates, as the former party president said, that the objective is to prevent me from being a candidate in the next presidential election.”

The second issue is the appointment of the new technical staff of the Indomitable Lions on April 2nd by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi. Head coach Marc Brys and his assistants signed the commitment and installation documents on Monday, April 8th. For Cabral Libii, the law is in favor of the Fécafoot, the body to which the 2014 decree gives the responsibility to propose a coach to the government. The coach and his assistants cannot be made available like other members of the technical staff.

Therefore, “a country where laws are flouted to this extent cannot be attractive. What investor would come to this country when, overnight, someone because they hold a ministerial position can decide to flout the laws of the Republic (…) There is an urgent need for systemic change in Cameroon. This way of governing where the law serves no purpose, where a few individuals make the law, where a few exhausted generation people make the law and manipulate everyone, we cannot continue like this,” insists the president of the PCRN, Cabral Libii.
