The Julius Abure-led Labour Party (LP) has decried the omission of the names of its candidates from the bye-elections scheduled for August 16, 2025.

While describing the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as “unlawful, surprising, and an abuse of power,” the party threatened to challenge it in court.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, in Abuja, on Saturday, the party said as a registered political party in Nigeria, the Labour Party was fully aware of its rights as specified in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Electoral Acts 2022 (as amended) as regards its powers to sponsor…
