Burkina Faso: Tougan Population Donates Surveillance Drone to the Army
Ouagadougou, March 25, 2024 (Africa Links 24) – The population of the Sourou province in the border region with Mali, Boucle du Mouhoun, has donated a surveillance drone to the army as part of the fight against terrorism.
“We appreciate this gesture that was made this morning by the donation of a drone that will allow them to conduct surveillance. Thank you to the population for this gesture,” said Defense Minister General Kassoum Coulibaly.
Ministers Kassoum Coulibaly and Emile Zerbo, Minister in charge of security, were on a tour last Saturday in the Boucle du Mouhoun region, as reported by the national television (RTB).
In the Sourou province, the ministerial delegation praised the commitment of the fighting forces that has yielded results in this part of the country. They urged them to continue in the same dynamic for the total territorial reconquest of the country.
“Here, we support our Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). We urge other provinces and regions to follow the same steps for the return of peace to Burkina Faso,” said the chief of the Tougan canton, Lamoukiri Jean Bosco.
Boucle du Mouhoun is one of the regions most affected by terrorism.
