Burkina: Sada Zougmoré and his brother Dramane Tiendrebéogo put aside their misunderstandings to position Sank Business
Ouagadougou, March 6, 2024 (Africa Links 24) – The Director General (DG) of Sank Finance, Sada Zougmoré, and his brother Dramane Tiendrébeogo, co-founder of Sank-money, decided on Wednesday to set aside their misunderstandings and work together to position Sank Business at the national and African levels, as observed by the Africa Links 24.
“Today, the two brothers, the children of Thomas Sankara, have come together to work towards positioning Sank as a leader in the field of money transfers in Burkina and Africa,” said the Director General of Sank Finance, Sada Zougmoré.
According to Mr. Zougmoré, the co-founder of Sank Money, Dramane Tiendrébeogo, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA), Wendemi Jules Kader Kaboré, along with himself, decided to put aside their misunderstandings concerning the company’s sales agreement that had been opposing them since December 2022.
The DG of Sank Finance, who was in Ouagadougou on Wednesday, in front of the media, expressed his joy that Mr. Tiendrébeogo had come together with his team to bury the hatchet.
He explained that on March 1, 2024, an agreement was reached between Mr. Kaboré and Boureima Namena regarding the management of Sank Business, while stating that the dispute was about honoring the commitment made regarding the dates set for debt repayment.
“After that, there were different interpretations by both parties of the agreement. Today, we have come to an understanding, and that is essential for us,” he said.
Sada Zougmoré also pointed out that the youth have set an example to show that Burkinabés must work for the development of the country, as he mentioned that the company is 100% national.
Taking the opportunity, he specified that the Burkinabè people now support the Sank Money initiative, justifying its 600 thousand users with over 5 thousand agents involved in Sank mobile money.
He added that his company is soon planning to integrate payments for the National Electricity Company of Burkina (SONABEL), the National Water and Sanitation Company (ONEA), among other services.
The co-founder of Sank Money, Dramane Tiendrébeogo, also explained that disagreements existed between Boureima Namena, Jules Kader Kaboré, and himself regarding Sank Business.
“We found common ground and decided to come to an agreement because we are all young Burkinabés. We must set an example for future generations,” he said.
According to Mr. Tiendrébeogo, the company does not only belong to the two of them but to all citizens, given their support, even though it had only been the two of them at the beginning of Sank Money in 2021.
“In a family, there are always quarrels, but in the end, we find adequate solutions. We try to open new doors and make changes. Only fools fight forever,” he stated.
He added that the agreement reached on Friday, March 1, allowed all shares to be released to Boureima Nanema, who will take over the reins of Sank.
“We will continue to support, which does not mean that we are abandoning Burkina Faso or Sank. After all, our names will be associated with Sank,” said Dramane Tiendrébeogo.
Yesterday, Sank Business announced through a statement that the General Administrator, Boureima Namena, became the sole owner of San Business SA in early March 2024, thanks to a fraternal solution found with the Founder of Sank Business, Wendemi Jules Kaboré.
