Burkina Faso: Government Ends Financial Allocations for Some Audit and Inspection Missions

Ouagadougou, March 25, 2024 (Africa Links 24) – Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachimson Kyélem de Tambèla has ended the granting of financial allocations for audit, inspection, and follow-up missions taking place at the usual place of residence of the mission workers, it has been learned.

According to the terms of the decree signed on March 21, 2024, only public servants conducting missions outside their province of habitual residence, or at a distance of at least fifty (50) kilometers within the same province, will be entitled to receive a financial allocation.

This decree repeals all previous contrary provisions and came into effect on March 21, 2024, the date of its signature.

It is worth noting that Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachimson Kyélem de Tambèla has repeatedly emphasized the need to rationalize public spending in the context of the fight against terrorism and the support of the many displaced persons.
