Burkina/Boulgou: a new ecotourism village inaugurated in Zabré
Zabré March 2, 2023 (Africa Links 24) – An ecotourism village called “Celebrity Ecotourism Village” was inaugurated on Saturday, March 2 in Zabré in the Boulgou province (Center-East of Burkina), observed a journalist from the Africa Links 24.
Built on an area of 6389m², the “Celebrity Ecotourism Village” in Zabré was inaugurated on Saturday, March 2, 2024, under the patronage of the Director General of Tourism of Burkina Faso, Monique Ilboudo.
According to the promoter Emile Gouba, a native of the locality, this village is the result of a dream to create an infrastructure to accommodate tourists passing through or visiting his municipality in healthy ecological conditions.
In 2020, he undertook to realize this dream by the effective construction of 5 permanent material apartments, each with 2 bedrooms, totaling 10 fully equipped rooms, 1 Nubian Vault consisting of 2 rooms built with local materials and equipped, 2 buildings serving as reception and bar, 1 kitchen, and latrines.
“Today we can express our satisfaction with the effective realization of this reception facility to which we have given the name “Celebrity Ecotourism Village”. This is to honor well-known individuals who have left their mark on our lives,” said the promoter.
Indeed, each room bears the name of an African or Burkinabé personality, deceased or still alive, with their portraits painted at the entrance.
“The construction of this gem, in addition to complying with the new regulations governing the tourism sector in Burkina Faso, also takes into account sustainability principles,” emphasized Monique Ilboudo, the Director General of Tourism of Burkina Faso. She urged the promoter to constantly surround himself with qualified and dynamic staff.
The promoter plans in the near future to build a meeting room and a swimming pool. With the aim of improving the attractiveness of the place, he also plans, with the consent of the families or stakeholders, to create portraits to pay tribute to individuals known for their dedicated service to Zabré with “honorable mention.”
Some trees were planted during the inauguration ceremony. The Celebrity Ecotourism Village of Zabré already employs about ten people.
