#Alert_african_games_2024: Burkina Faso participates with 15 disciplines
Ouagadougou, February 28, 2024 (AIB) – Burkina Faso will participate in the 13th African Games in Accra, Ghana, it was learned on Wednesday from the Council of Ministers.
The Minister of Sports, Youth, and Employment, Dr. Boubakar Sawadogo, presented a communication to the Council regarding Burkina Faso’s participation in the 13th African Games, scheduled to take place from March 8 to 23, 2024, in Accra, Ghana.
The African Games are a multidisciplinary sports competition aimed at promoting high-level African sports and encouraging cultural exchanges among the member states of the African Union. These games are also an opportunity to showcase the best sports talents on the continent.
The 13th African Games, under the theme “Living the African dream,” will bring together 54 countries from the continent. Burkina Faso is registered to participate in 15 sports disciplines, including athletics, badminton, 3×3 basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, cycling, handball, judo, karate, wrestling, swimming, rugby, taekwondo, tennis, and table tennis.
