Accident in Mali: Injured to be Repatriated by Burkina Faso Military Flight
Ouagadougou, March 2, 2024 (Africa Links 24) – The injured Burkinabe from the accident that occurred in Mali on February 27 and are still being treated at the hospital in Sikasso, will be repatriated by a Burkina Faso military flight, the Africa Links 24 learned on Saturday.
“A Burkinabe military plane will come to pick up the injured Burkinabe who are at the hospital in Sikasso,” a Malian source quoted the delegation of 4 ministers sent by Burkina Faso to Mali as saying on Saturday.
A delegation of 4 ministers traveled to Sikasso to visit the injured being treated at the hospital in Sikasso, following the accident that occurred on February 27 and has already claimed the lives of 42 people, including Burkinabe.
The delegation includes the Minister in charge of Solidarity and Family, Nandy Somé/Diallo, the Minister of Transport and Road Safety, Roland A. Somda, the Minister Delegate in charge of Regional Cooperation, Stella Kabré/Kaboré, and the Minister of Health, Dr. Robert Kargougou.
The delegation attended the burial of some bodies at the Lafiabougou cemetery in Sikasso.
On the occasion, the delegation expressed the condolences of the Burkinabe authorities to the victims, expressed their support for the sick, and their gratitude to Mali for mobilizing rescue and health services after the accident.
