Burkina Faso: Farmer Donates 1000 Baobab Plants to Government

Ouagadougou, April 9, 2024 – Salifou Ouédraogo, a farmer and promoter of a Baobab orchard with 35,000 planted trees, handed over 1000 Baobab plants to the government as a gesture of his patriotic commitment to creating a green Burkina Faso.

“I am pleased with the establishment of patriotic commitment days. I am especially happy about the reforestation decreed by the government on this occasion. I have handed over 1000 Baobab plants to encourage the government in this initiative,” said environmental advocate Salifou Ouédraogo.

El Hadj Salifou Ouédraogo is a farmer who cultivates nearly 100 hectares of Baobab trees in Burkina Faso. With a total of 35,000 planted Baobab trees, he has dedicated 56 years of effort and perseverance to this cause.

Salifou Ouédraogo is also the recipient of the Gold Kuuri for the environment at the 7th edition of the International Agriculture and Livestock Fair (SIAEL).
