Brother Emmanuel Zongo Encourages Burkinabes to Keep Smiling Despite Anxieties

Ouagadougou, April 5 (Africa Links 24) – Brother Koudbi Emmanuel Zongo dedicated his first book “Garde le sourire” (Keep Smiling) on Saturday, which is an invitation to optimism in the face of the anxieties of daily life.

“I wanted a novel to help me bounce back in life whenever my ideals are threatened by current events, sadness, and anxiety, and today we know that keeping a smile on one’s face is heroic,” said the author of the book, Brother Koudbi Emmanuel Zongo, during the dedication session in Ouagadougou.

“When I had almost finished, I decided to share it with others, because I am sure that there are people like me and maybe if we formed a network of smiles, we could change the world,” he continued.

As a member of the Institute of the Brothers of the Holy Family, Brother Zongo emphasizes that the goal of this work is to contribute to a happy life.

“The work is divided into two main parts, the first dealing with the contemplation of a smile and the second dealing with the commitment to a smile,” he mentioned.

Brother Zongo added that his book will help readers differentiate between fake smiles, artificial smiles, natural smiles, and universal smiles.

“The work is not only aimed at Africans, it is universal and I talk about a universal smile,” he specified.

According to Brother Zongo, this work will contribute to supporting the Petit Taborin Foundation to help the small, the poor, and the suffering.

Dr. Cyriaque Paré, who wrote the preface for the work, states that this book meets the need for a reference point that the population is seeking, inviting us to smile and beyond smiling, to have a true philosophy of life to face the challenges of daily life.

“It’s all about perception: when you see the world as a wealth, as an infinite goodness, everything smiles at you,” indicated the author of the book, Brother Koudbi.

Emmanuel Zongo also added that the content of the book is accessible to everyone at an affordable price of 2,500 CFA francs.

“It will be available in establishments of the Brothers of the Holy Family, with the publisher, and soon online for greater accessibility,” he added.
