Break silence on campus sexual harassment, university girls urged

The Executive Director of Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) Uganda, Ms Susan Opok Tumusiime, has raised concern over sexual harassment in universities and other institutions of higher learning, noting that many affected girls suffer in silence.

While opening a four-day training on the TUSEME model, a FAWE empowerment model that gives young people confidence, skills and platforms to speak about challenges affecting their education, wellbeing and leadership, Ms Tumusiime said it is unfortunate that universities which should be safe spaces have become sites of abuse.
