Next week, the Muthaiga Golf Club’s par 71 course will host the Magical Kenya Open, a DP World Tour event. The prestigious golf tournament will feature a special prize for the first golfer to achieve a hole in one – a brand new Suzuki Vitara valued at 5.3 million Kenyan Shillings, generously provided by CFAO Motors.

The 13th hole at Muthaiga Golf Club is considered one of the most challenging par threes due to its large green that requires golfers to fly the ball over water to reach it. The Commercial Director of Kenya Open Golf Limited, Ronald Meru, expressed his gratitude to CFAO for their partnership with the event and their generous hole-in-one prize sponsorship. The addition of this prize is a clear demonstration of corporate support for the growth of golf within the country.

The upcoming 55th edition of the Magical Kenya Open is seen as an opportunity to showcase Kenya as an integral part of the global golfing world, offering pristine courses and emerging talent within the sport. The tournament will feature a field of 144 players, including both amateurs and professionals from not only Kenya but from 18 different countries. The total prize fund for the event this year will be $2.5 million USD.

The last time a player achieved a hole in one at the 13th during the Magical Kenya Open was in 2017 when Finland’s Oliver Lindell won a Ford Ranger WildTrak valued at 6.9 million Shillings. Commenting on the sponsorship, the General Manager of Equipment at CFAO Motors Kenya, Julien Poiger, expressed the company’s dedication to excellence, not only in the automotive industry but also in supporting prestigious sporting events.

The Kenya Open, originally established in 1967, has become one of Sub-Sahara’s most prestigious sporting events. Since being added to the European Tour series in 2019, the competition has continued to grow in stature and become an eagerly anticipated event within the golfing world.

The sponsors and organizers of the Magical Kenya Open are committed to making this year’s event a memorable one, showcasing the best golfing talent from around the globe and providing exciting prizes like the Suzuki Vitara for players who achieve remarkable feats on the course.
