On Monday, March 11, 2024, the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, issued a circular implementing the “Moroccan Offer” for the development of the green hydrogen sector. An operational and incentive offer covering the entire value chain of the green hydrogen sector. Just a few days after this official announcement, a hundred national and foreign investors “demonstrated their keen and effective interest” in this project, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

The latest to join is Proparco, a subsidiary of the French Development Agency (AfD), which has expressed its intention to invest in the Moroccan Sahara. In this context, the Alliance of Istiqlal Engineers organized a meeting last Thursday launching avenues for reflection on the development of green hydrogen in Morocco.
