First National Bank Botswana (FNBB) and TheNeoHub have joined forces to launch a groundbreaking entrepreneurship development program called The FirstPreneur. This initiative aims to foster growth and innovation within the small, medium, and micro-enterprises (SMMEs) sector in Botswana. TheNeoHub, an incubator, accelerator, entrepreneurship, and enterprise development center, provides support to startups and entrepreneurs in Botswana and across Africa. The main objective of TheNeoHub is to empower the next generation of African entrepreneurs and innovators to build sustainable businesses that can create positive social and economic impact in their communities.
The FirstPreneur is a comprehensive two-year program designed to nurture, support, and accelerate entrepreneurs in building sustainable businesses. This collaboration between First National Bank Botswana and TheNeoHub is a first of its kind and aims to provide existing SMMEs with the necessary tools, resources, and support to succeed in today’s competitive business landscape.
Open exclusively to 100% citizen-owned entities that have been in operation for at least two years, The FirstPreneur is an intentional program tailored to provide extra support to entrepreneurs who have shown resilience and staying power but need assistance in accelerating their growth journey.
Ms. Jennifer Makgabenyane, the FNB Director of Commercial, expressed the bank’s dedication to supporting businesses in their start, run, and grow endeavors through this partnership. She highlighted the importance of providing additional support to small, medium, and micro-enterprises (SMMEs) and emphasized that the benefits of the program extend to all eligible businesses, regardless of their existing banking affiliations.
Ms. Zindzi Letsididi, the Founder and Director of The Neo Hub, emphasized the vital role of entrepreneurship as a driver of economic growth and innovation.
