Known for their hilarious comedy events, Major Moves Comedy is back with a double-header comedy weekend at Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino and Cresta Bosele Hotel, featuring top local comedians and award-winning acts from South Africa and Zambia. The events aim to showcase both established comedians and upcoming talent, giving everyone a chance to shine on stage.

The lineup includes resident host Onkgopotse ‘Mdala Ka Tjeludo’ Mugende and headliner Shanray van Wyk, a two-time South African Comics Choice nominee known for his unique storytelling style. Other performers include Augustus Phillimon from Francistown, Hubert Chingliz from Zambia, Boniface ‘Roy the Comedian’ Phetolo, Odirile Brooks from Tsabong, Thapelo Malani, and surprise guests.

Shanray van Wyk has made a name for himself in the comedy scene, with appearances on various TV shows and live performances at popular comedy festivals. His one-man show, “Come, I Tell You!”, has garnered praise for its relatable and humorous take on life.

Odirile Brooks, a two-time President’s Day Comedy Competition Champion from Tsabong, and Boniface Roy Phetolo, a standout comedian from Botswana, will also bring their talents to the stage, sharing hilarious stories about township life and captivating the audience with their performances.

Augustus Phillimon, a Francistown-based comedian, has proven his comedic prowess on both local and international stages, earning recognition for his outstanding performances. The support from the public and media for past Major Moves Comedy events has been overwhelming, with the production team dedicated to providing a truly enjoyable and entertaining experience for all attendees.
