Boko Haram attack on Chad army base kills at least 24 people

Chad’s armed forces said at least 24 soldiers have been killed in an overnight attack by Boko Haram militants on an army post in the Lake Chad region.

The area has long been threatened by the Nigeria-based group, which is known for carrying out assaults in neighbouring countries.
