The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has launched a call for applications to companies to benefit from its innovation program for climate change, funded by the Netherlands through the High-Impact Partnership on Climate Action (Hipca). This call is aimed at companies from five countries, namely Tunisia, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, and Egypt, who are able to propose innovative and developed ideas that can contribute to combating climate change through innovation. The projects covered by this program include climate adaptation projects, climate mitigation measures, and biodiversity measures. Selected companies will have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers and developers to experiment and evaluate the feasibility of their projects. They will receive grants of up to 20,000 euros for eligible services such as feasibility research, software and hardware development, prototyping, testing, etc. The High-Impact Partnership on Climate Action was launched by the EBRD and partner governments at COP26, held in 2021 in Glasgow. Its main objectives are to stimulate investments and solutions that reduce or prevent greenhouse gas emissions, strengthen resilience and reduce vulnerability to climate change, and protect the environment. In EBRD regions, the partnership focuses on eight thematic areas, including energy systems, sustainable food systems, green financial systems, cities and environmental infrastructure, as well as natural capital. It also includes cross-cutting themes such as climate adaptation and resilience, just transition, and gender and economic inclusion.
