The young leader of the Republican Bloc, Romaric Boco, was arrested and placed in custody on Monday, April 8, 2024. He is accused of harassment and threats via electronic means according to initial information.
Romaric Boco, a young Beninese political actor and member of the Republican Bloc party, is no longer free to move around. He was arrested by the elements of the Central Office for the Repression of Cybercrime (OCRC) near his residence in Akpakpa.
His arrest was followed by a search of his home. It was only at the OCRC that the reasons for his arrest and custody were notified to him. He is mainly accused of harassment through a means of communication against the Minister of Urban Development and Transportation, in charge of sustainable development, José Tonato.
Indeed, very active on social media, he has recently made several posts on his digital platforms, particularly on Facebook, regarding the case of the demolition of houses in Togbin. This case highlights the situation of the bailiff Bérenger Agbogba, whom Romaric Boco vigorously defended. The bailiff’s house was destroyed following the declaration of the area as being of public utility.
