Benin: National Television Content to Be Broadcast is Now Approved by a Committee

The Director General of the Office of Broadcasting and Television of Benin (ORTB), Jean-Phillippe Erick ABRAHAM, informs of the establishment of a committee responsible for validating the content to be broadcast on the national television.

In a memo dated March 15, 2024, the Director General of the Office of Broadcasting and Television of Benin (ORTB), Jean-Phillippe Erick ABRAHAM, announces to the staff the creation of a committee tasked with validating the content to be broadcast on the national Television, in compliance with the editorial line.

From now on, “the broadcast of any content is subject to the favorable opinion of this committee”, as stated in the memorandum no. 0549/ORTB/DG/SG/CSAJ of October 2, 2023.

The Director General of ORTB urgently asks all content production managers to strictly adhere to this new provision.

“The profile and identity of those who make up this committee, now tasked with playing the role that is normally that of the editor-in-chief, are unknown.”
