The BANK OF AFRICA Benin and MTN Mobile Money launched the MoMo Xpress product in Cotonou on Thursday. This service, which comes at the right time, is different from traditional transfer services and now allows customers to access their money at the bank and also to transfer money from their Mobile Money account to their BOA bank account.

Do you have an account at BOA Benin? Now transfer money from your Mobile Money account to your bank account and vice versa. Indeed, the BANK OF AFRICA Benin and MTN Mobile Money offer this possibility to their customers through a partnership that allowed them to launch the “BANK TO WALLET” service, also known as “MoMo Xpress,” on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

“Our ambition at MTN Mobile Money is to ensure that every Beninese can easily access mobile financial services. Today, with this new product, BOA clients will now have access to Mobile Money. This product is in line with facilitating financial inclusion. We are happy to partner with BOA to offer this service to our clients,” said Serge SOGLO, Managing Director of MTN Mobile Money S.A. This service, a simple and easy product, will make life easier for five million MTN Mobile Money clients.

For the Managing Director of BOA Benin, Abdel Mumin ZAMPALEGRE, the launch of this product is a very important step for BOA Benin because “it allows us to digitalize our service offerings.”

“I am one of those convinced that the phone will be the next bank branch. From now on, we must work to make the phone a true bank branch in order to develop this product,” said Abdel Mumin ZAMPALEGRE, pointing out that through this service, “BOA Benin also brings an element of security that now allows you to have your wallet to pay for your expenses” and therefore, no longer have to carry cash. This service will allow 600,000 BOA clients to securely access their money via their wallet everywhere and instantly across the national territory.

The two companies have also committed to fully supporting the MoMo Xpress project, to the great satisfaction of their common clients.

MoMo Xpress service is built on three essential pillars: speed, ease of use, and security, allowing transactions to be made without moving. But before being able to benefit from this service, an account link must be established.

Indeed, the MTN Mobile Money subscriber will have to go to a BOA branch to fill out the subscription form available at the branch, and then the bank will link the subscriber’s MoMo account to their BOA account. In addition, the subscriber only has to dial *880#, then select 7 (Banking services), then 5 (BOA).

The service is also available on the MyBOA mobile application (Android & ISO) and even on BOAweb (Computers, tablets). From MyBOA, the customer can transfer money to any MoMo number without subscription. Note that the service is automated, and in case the transaction fails, which is very rare, there is no need to file a claim because the funds return to the account the next day. So, let yourself be carried away by the digital world and make your transactions without the risk of insecurity, without having to move, and without waiting in line.
