In the night from the 16th to the 17th, Benin was the scene of a new attack by IANI in Malanville, causing three deaths and one injured.

Following this information, the Democratic Party, through its first vice-president Éric Houndété, conveyed a message of condolences to the bereaved families and to the Beninese nation.

“I express my deep compassion to our entire nation and my support to the families affected by this new tragedy and pray for the souls of the deceased,” reads the message.

They struck us again! It is with emotion and great sadness that I learned that the terrorists struck again in the night from the 16th to the 17th, causing deaths and one injured in the commune of Malanville.

I express my deep compassion to our entire nation and my support to the families affected by this new tragedy and pray for the souls of the deceased. I wish a speedy recovery to the injured.

I urge the government of our country to increase the motivation and strengthen the operational capacity of our defense and security forces by truly strengthening our security intelligence system in order to be proactive and anticipate as much as possible on terrorist intentions.

I call on our individual and collective consciousness to strengthen our synergy of action to be stronger together against those who tear us apart in our human roots and who undermine our civilizational values of tolerance, freedom, and democracy. The more united we are, the stronger we will be.

Éric Houndété
Member of Parliament
First Vice President of the Democratic Party
