After receiving a delegation from Fopa at his home, former president Boni Yayi visited the imperial court of Nikki on Wednesday, March 27 at the invitation of Emperor Sero Torou Touko Sari.
President Boni YAYI was accompanied on his trip by deputies as well as many officials from electoral districts and municipalities of the party Les Démocrates.
A one-on-one meeting took place between the two men. The discussions mainly focused on national interests. Social issues were at the center of the discussions. The question of peace and security was examined in detail.
The president of the Les Démocrates party began this consultation with what Benin has in terms of royalty or crowned heads following the promulgation of the new electoral code after its constitutional review.
In front of the Fopa delegation, the former president clearly stated that Benin cannot go to the general elections of 2026 with this electoral code that contains explosive elements.
Therefore, in a peace preservation approach, Boni Yayi has undertaken to consult with crowned heads and kings to make the country’s authorities see reason.
