In a traffic regulation mission, a police commissioner ended up in the hospital with a damaged foot. The drama took place yesterday Sunday in Adobe.
In Azovè, in the Couffo department, a motorcyclist fractured the foot of a police commissioner. The incident occurred during a police crackdown to enforce regulations on wearing helmets.
According to reports, the police commissioner, accompanied by some of his unit members, was trying to stop a motorcyclist who was riding without a helmet. Negotiations between the two did not go well. In the end, the commissioner had a broken foot and was urgently transported for treatment.
It must be said that since the start of the crackdown on road traffic violations, this is not the first accident recorded during attempts to enforce the road code, but it is certainly the first victim recorded among law enforcement. An incident that should prompt the officers sent into the field to review their approach, to avoid reproducing what the operation is supposed to prevent: loss of life.
