Three people involved in a fraud case are being held in custody at a police station in Toffo.

It all started with a complaint filed at the police station by a resident from northern Benin who was a victim of fraud. The police investigation led to the arrest of a suspected perpetrator.

The older brother of the person arrested transferred money via Mobile Money to a teacher friend with the mission of going to the police station to pay the amount of the fraud in order to have his brother released.

But once at the police station, the teacher was also arrested and held in custody. The presence of his friend was required. The older brother of the suspected fraudster, who was forced to go to the police station, was also arrested and held in custody.

The three people held in custody will be brought to the prosecutor in the coming hours for further proceedings.
