The Republican Police announced on Tuesday that they had arrested two burglars in Illara, Kétou commune, as part of their fight against insecurity in the Plateau department.

On Monday, March 25, 2024, the Illara border police station, during a crackdown on traffic violations, arrested two individuals riding a BABAJ motorcycle without helmets. Angered, these individuals promised revenge.

On the morning of Thursday, March 28, 2024, the police station received a report of a burglary at a motorcycle sales shop during which two motorcycles were stolen. An investigation was immediately opened.

Thanks to the proactive intelligence network of the police station, the suspects were located and apprehended on Thursday, April 4, 2024. During their arrest, one of them attempted to flee by brandishing a long piece of firewood against the police officers. This behavior did not deter the intervention team, who immediately subdued him. They confessed and were willing to cooperate to help with the investigation.

It is important to note that during their questioning, the investigators discovered that these two criminals are known to the Illara border police station. They are the same individuals who had promised revenge when they were arrested on Monday, March 25, 2024, for not wearing helmets and lacking necessary documentation for their motorcycle ownership. The investigation continues.
