Eva Newlove, the reigning Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Association Commission for Women and Children, was enstooled as the new Mawerehemaa of Kyekyewere on April 5, taking on the stool name Awo Yaa Manubea I. The ceremony, filled with cultural significance and celebratory spirits, drew the people of Kyekyewere to witness the grand occasion unfold at the kingdom’s royal palace, where the king, elders, council members, family, and friends came together in unity.

The enstoolment of Awo Yaa Manubea I was a momentous occasion, graced by His Royal Highness Barima Okunini Gyebi Kwame Ababio II and his council of advisors. As she swore an oath to uphold her traditional and royal responsibilities, a new chapter was marked in the history of the Kingdom of Kyekyewere, with Awo Yaa Manubea I stepping into a significant leadership role to carry forward the kingdom’s enduring legacy.

Following her enstoolment, Awo Yaa Manubea I took to social media to express her gratitude and humility, thanking God, her ancestors, elders, council members, family, and friends for their unwavering support. She pledged to fulfill her duties with dignity, respect, and wisdom, seeking divine guidance throughout her reign as the newly enstooled Mawerehemaa of Kyekyewere.

Before assuming her role as Mawerehemaa, Awo Yaa Manubea I had already established herself as a woman of substance, with a background in Modeling, Housing Management, Public Relations, and Business Management. Her previous achievements include being appointed as a Ghanaian Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations Association Commission for Women and Children (UNA-CWCA) in 2022, as well as receiving an honorary award for “Best TV/Online Presenter” at the Women Worship Gospel Music Awards United Kingdom.

In addition to her academic qualifications, including a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Plymouth, Awo Yaa Manubea I is a social entrepreneur dedicated to promoting pragmatic social solutions. She advocates for body positivity and self-acceptance, showcasing her beliefs on the runway as a plus-size model. From hosting The Well-being Show to her royal duties, Awo Yaa Manubea I is committed to serving the Kingdom of Kyekyewere wholeheartedly.

Kyekyewere, a town located in Ghana’s Eastern Region, is ruled by the wise monarch Barima Okunini Gyebi Kwame Ababio II. The kingdom, comprising eight communities, thrives under his leadership, with abundant crops like cocoa, yams, palm oil, coconut, and various fruits and vegetables. Situated between Nsawam and Suhum, Kyekyewere is known for its natural beauty and agricultural richness, making it a flourishing community in Ghana.
