As part of the expansion of its global network, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, a leader in the field of maritime transportation and logistics, is proud to announce the opening of its new office in Chad. This symbolic milestone was celebrated in N’Djamena, with the presence of distinguished guests.
This new location demonstrates MSC’s commitment to improving its intermodal services in Africa, especially for landlocked countries like Chad, with the aim of securing and strengthening supply chains and trade. The opening of this office marks a crucial step in MSC’s efforts to more effectively connect Chad to the global market, offering comprehensive logistics solutions that meet the unique needs of the region.
Chad relies on safe and reliable connections with the nearest maritime port, namely the port of Douala in neighboring Cameroon. The new MSC office in Chad is strategically positioned to create essential intermodal connections within the country, promoting local growth and supporting the economy.
Kawia Degueya, agency manager at MSC Chad, emphasized the importance of these intermodal transport solutions by stating: “Intermodal solutions are more important than ever, especially for landlocked countries like Chad. Safe and reliable connections with the nearest maritime port are essential. In this case, it is the port of Douala in Cameroon.
MSC’s intermodal approach combines maritime and road transport, simplifying the shipment of goods to and from Chad and the Central African Republic (CAR). Imported goods are transported from the port of Douala via MSC’s maritime services, directly connected with road transport services to key destinations, including N’Djamena and Bangui.
“Our goal is always to provide comprehensive and reliable service to our customers. With Douala naturally being the port of entry for supplies to Chad and the CAR, we knew we had to offer a complete solution to help customers transport goods not only to the port, but also beyond borders,” added Mr Degueya.
This expansion is in line with MSC’s commitment to investing in the economic development of Africa by hiring local experts, allowing for close contact with Chadian traders, and improving infrastructure to enable transactions from an MSC office. The existing intermodal line simplifies access to the global market for Chad and the CAR, facilitating international trade and promoting economic growth opportunities.
Kader Lo, general manager of MSC Cameroon, stated in his speech: “Our expansion reflects our commitment to the growth of the continent and its people, as well as our desire to better serve our customers and meet their needs. The new office is not just a physical space that will warmly welcome our customers and partners, but also a testament to the hard work, dedication, and spirit of collaboration of the various teams in Chad and Cameroon.”
With this new office in Chad, MSC continues to strengthen intracontinental connections, facilitate global trade, and contribute to the promising future of Africa.
