The police presence also scared the judicial employees and court users. All citizens near the court, including journalists, were prevented from using their cell phones. The entrance to the court was guarded for hours by SIC operatives, who kept a close eye on people.
Any movement was seen as suspicious. “Man Gena” entered hooded, with his head down and heavily escorted by several heavily armed SIC operatives. Some streets near the Luanda District Court were closed off and several people were forced to halt their march and others were searched. “Man Gena” was taken to the court as “highly dangerous,” as in American movies. In fact, he himself mentioned to the court, to the judge who interrogated him, that he “only saw that in Hollywood movies.” High-ranking officials from the SIC and the National Police were present in court to closely monitor the interrogation of “Man Gena.”
The Novo Jornal learned, through a court source, that the judge of guarantee who interrogated him decided on the most severe penalty, that of preventive detention for “Man Gena.” Gerson Eugénio Quintas faces two arrest warrants for crimes of qualified robbery and abuse of trust, in addition to crimes of outrage to the State, its symbols and organs, incitement to crime, defamation, slander, and libel.
According to the SIC, “Man Gena” left Angola after the publication of several audios and videos on social media against the President of the Republic, government officials, general officers, and police and SIC commissioners, regarding alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
It is worth mentioning that on Sunday, Mozambican authorities eventually administratively expelled “Man Gena,” his wife, and children for illegal stay.
