The country now has the first National Symbols Gallery, located in the Classic de Talatona Administrative Complex in Luanda, inaugurated by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Dionisio da Fonseca, since Friday.

The gallery, composed of 17 panels, contains in the main part the three National Symbols (National Anthem, National Flag, and National Emblem) and their respective descriptions, protocol norms, and common errors, with the aim of disseminating the rules for the correct use and deference of the National Symbols.

In the supplementary part, there are panels with information about the four main national commemorations, namely February 4th – Day of the Beginning of the National Liberation Armed Struggle; April 4th – Day of Peace and National Reconciliation; September 17th – Day of the National Hero and Founder of the Nation; and November 11th – Day of National Independence, along with descriptions of the laws that institutionalize them as National Holidays.

On the occasion, the Minister of Territorial Administration, Dionisio Manuel da Fonseca, stated in remarks to the media that the National Symbols Gallery, now inaugurated, serves to promote the true National Symbols, as per the Constitution of the Republic of Angola.

“What we have noticed in the context of our activities is a misuse of the National Emblem, the National Flag, as well as a poor intonation and execution of the National Anthem. This Gallery portrays the National Symbols and their ways of use in the legally established terms,” highlighted Dionisio da Fonseca. The official explained that the ceremony marks the conclusion of the celebrations of February 4th – Day of the Beginning of the National Liberation Armed Struggle, the central event of which took place in the province of Cuanza Sul.

The Minister of Territorial Administration informed that the National Symbols Gallery is located in an open space with public access, intentionally designed so that all interested parties can access it for consultation without formalities.

According to the information released by the Ministry of Administration and Territory on Facebook, during the ceremony, a lecture on the theme “Correct Use of National Symbols – Common Errors” was given by Manuel Pedro Panzo, a specialist in Ceremonial, Image, and Event Organization.
