A delegation from the US Congress led by Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey and also including Senator Sara Jacobs from California, accompanied by the US diplomat accredited to Chad, Mr. Alexander Laskaris, were received this afternoon at the presidential palace.
The delegation met with the transitional president Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno to discuss the upcoming elections in Chad and the humanitarian crisis stemming from the massive influx of Sudanese refugees in the East of the country.
