Alpha Exploration recently reported the latest drilling results from the Aburna gold project in Eritrea, revealing significant gold mineralization of 15.33 g/t over 18 meters. This discovery marks the highest gold mineralization found to date on the project and signifies the expansion of a high-grade zone.

The drilling program, which consisted of 10,000 meters of drilling on the 771 km² Kerkasha project, included a combination of reverse circulation holes and diamond core holes. The results from 16 additional boreholes were reported as part of this program.

Some of the key highlights from the press release include:
– 18 meters at 15.33 g/t Au from RC-DC hole ABD012 at Hill 52
– 49 meters with 2.75 g/t Au (including 7 meters with 14.90 g/t Au) from the RC-DC borehole ABD013 at Hill 52
– 6 meters at 4.5 g/t Au and 2 meters at 11.91 g/t Au from borehole ABR114

These results represent the most significant mineralization observed on the Aburna project so far. The drilling has expanded a wide, high-grade zone to over 200 meters at Hill 52 and confirmed a flat, sloping geometry of gold mineralization in both the Central Area and Hill 52.

Borehole ABD012 was drilled as a foothill along the existing high-grade mineralization, while ABD013 expanded on ABD012, revealing two separate high-grade zones at a shallow depth. The combination of these two holes has significantly extended the wide, high-grade mineralization zone defined by Alpha Exploration in 2022.

Alpha Exploration CEO Michael Hopley described the results as “spectacular,” noting that ABD012 and ABD013 exceeded all expectations by extending the high-grade foothills discovered in 2022. The identification of near-surface, sloping, high-grade mineralization in Hill 52 underscores the value of the work being done.

In preparation for further expansion of the mineralization zone, additional drilling targets are already being planned, with drilling expected to resume in the coming weeks. Aburna is a large orogenic gold deposit measuring at least 7 km in length and 2 km in width, making it one of the three significant discoveries by Alpha Exploration on the Kerkasha license over the past three years.

Previous exploration by Alpha Exploration on the project identified six primary areas of interest and significant high-grade gold mineralization systems in the Central Area, Hill 52, and Northeast Area. The company’s ongoing exploration efforts aim to further define and expand on these discoveries.

Overall, the latest drilling results from Alpha Exploration in Eritrea have confirmed the presence of high-grade gold mineralization at the Aburna project and suggest promising future prospects for the company’s exploration activities in the region.
