Boumerdès, February 26, 2024 – The Minister of Commerce and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, announced on Monday a 10% decrease in food prices during the month of Ramadan.
The Minister praised the position of traders and producers who supported this unprecedented initiative in the national market. This decrease is particularly important for citizens, especially during the holy month.
Mr. Zitouni added that prices in local markets will see an even greater decrease, reaching up to 25% for some products.
On the other hand, the head of the sector pointed out that the prices of household appliances will also see a 10% decrease during the fasting month.
This initiative will cover the entire national territory and will be accompanied by control services to prevent any exploitation by intermediaries, Mr. Zitouni stated.
Finally, the Minister reassured citizens about the availability of widely consumed food products throughout the month of Ramadan.
