The meteorological services have announced the forecast for today, Saturday, predicting precipitation in the eastern and central regions of the country. According to these forecasts, the northern regions will experience partly cloudy skies, while the weather will be sunny to rainy in the eastern and central regions in the afternoon.
Temperatures are expected to range between 21 and 23 degrees Celsius on the coast, and between 17 and 23 degrees Celsius inland. In addition, winds could reach up to 60 km/h.
For the southern regions of the country, the sky will be sunny, with temperatures ranging between 24 and 36 degrees Celsius. Winds in this region could blow up to 50 km/h.
This meteorological information is essential to allow citizens to plan their activities for the day and take necessary precautions according to the expected weather conditions.
Drought in Algeria: one of the challenges related to water
During a meeting of the Commission of Housing, Equipment, Irrigation and Urban Development of the National People’s Assembly, the Director General of the National Agency for Dams and Transfers highlighted the vital importance given by Algerian authorities to ensuring sustainable food and water security conditions.
He emphasized the Agency’s commitment to guaranteeing access to drinking water for all citizens by optimizing available resources and improving water distribution and consumption infrastructures. He also outlined the various missions of the Agency, including water production and supply, as well as the management and maintenance of hydraulic infrastructure.
Furthermore, he presented the achievements of the Agency, including projects under construction, such as dam construction and water transfer projects. He also addressed the challenges faced by the Agency, including drought, floods, and increasing water needs for agriculture and domestic consumption.
Deputies expressed their concerns regarding future studies, preventive measures, and future plans to address these challenges. They proposed various solutions, such as the efficient use of available water resources, the construction of additional dams, and the modernization of hydraulic infrastructure to meet the growing needs of the population.
