The authorities of the wilaya of Algiers have revealed the plan they have put in place to ensure the continuity of public services during Aid El-Fitr. This plan includes several organizational and security measures, which we will present to you in detail.
Beginning with the basics, the director of Commerce of the wilaya of Algiers, Abdelwahab Herkas, indicated that his services have requisitioned 4,068 traders and economic operators to guarantee the supply of consumer products during Aid.
This figure includes 538 bakeries, 1,782 general food stores, around 1,734 service structures (cafes, tea rooms, restaurants, fast food, gas stations), 67 pharmacies, as well as 8 mills and 6 dairies.
In order to ensure that traders adhere to this program, the official stated that a total of 82 anti-fraud teams under the direction of commerce have been mobilized.
Transport: here are the programs of ETUSA, the Algiers metro, and the tramway
Regarding transportation, 455 buses covering 237 lines will ensure service during the days of Aid. In addition to this number, there are private buses as well as taxis (VTC or others).
Furthermore, the Urban and Suburban Transport Company of Algiers (ETUSA) has drawn up a special Aid El-Fitr program. This includes the mobilization of 159 buses covering 186 lines on the first day of Aid, from 6:00 in the morning until 1:40 after midnight.
For the 2nd and 3rd day, ETUSA will provide citizens with 263 and 189 buses respectively during the day, while 19 buses on 19 lines will ensure transportation at night during all three days of Aid.
Additionally, the company has developed a special program for visits to cemeteries. 10 buses will provide services from 7:00 to 13:40 from the following stations:
– 1st May – El Alia Cemetery;
– Martyrs Square – El Alia;
– Chevalley – Dely Ibrahim Cemetery;
– Bachdjerah – Sidi Rezine Cemetery (via Baraki);
– El Harrach – El Alia (via Bachdjerah and Sidi Tayeb).
The plan also includes the mobilization, starting at 5:30 in the morning, of 50 vehicles on 16 lines to transport citizens who wish to go to Djamâa El Djazaïr to perform the Aid prayer.
Finally, the services of the wilaya of Algiers have indicated that the metro will operate during the three days of Aid, from 5:00 to 21:00. As for the tramway, the one starting from Ruisseau towards Dergana will operate from 5:30 to 22:00, and the one connecting Dergana to Ruisseau from 5:30 to 20:40.
