Imsak and iftar are the two pillars of fasting that mark the month of Ramadan. Imsak, meaning “restraint”, marks the beginning of fasting. It is dawn, the moment when Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, and any act that could invalidate the fast. Iftar, meaning “break the fast”, symbolizes the end of this period of abstinence at sunset.
It is important to note that the schedules of Iftar and Imsak for the various wilayas of Algeria are defined by the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Hadith of the day
According to Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“When the month of Ramadan arrives, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the demons are chained.” (Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
