ALGER, 27/02/2024 – The official press agency (APS) issued a sharp statement this evening denying the false news spread by “the propaganda machine of the Makhzen” about the upcoming presidential elections in Algeria.
Indeed, several foreign media outlets serving the Makhzen have spread a rumor in recent days that Algeria would like to postpone the electoral deadline that is scheduled to take place in December 2024.
In order to quash the rumor and respond to speculators, the APS has published a scathing clarification denouncing this propaganda campaign and confirming the holding of the presidential elections on the scheduled date.
APS: “Elections [in Algeria] will take place on time”
“Shamelessly, APS begins, the Makhzen propaganda machine excels in fake news about Algeria and Algerian elections.”
Then, the APS accuses, without naming it, the “Makhzeno-Zionist poodle in Paris” which “is developing in some French radios whose recognition of the belly and lower belly to the Makhzen has been proven for a long time.”
The Algerian press agency then addresses the “gentlemen of the Makhzen” advising them to turn their gaze towards the Moroccan Royal Palace rather than towards El Mouradia (the presidential palace of Algeria).
In conclusion of its statement, the APS emphasizes that “the elections will take place on time as scheduled by the Constitution, out of respect for the Constitution and for the Algerian people, the sole holder of sovereignty”.
